Flutter supports the use of shared packages contributed by other developers to his Flutter and Dart ecosystem. This allows you to build apps quickly  without having to develop everything from scratch.
What is the difference between a package and a plugin? A plugin is a type of package. The full name is plug-in package, commonly abbreviated as plug-in.
 Packages A
dart package is one or more directories containing  pubspec files. Additionally, packages may contain dependencies (listed in  pubspec), dart libraries, apps, resources, tests, images, and examples. The Pub developer page lists many packages available for your app, developed by a Google engineer and a generous member of his Flutter and Dart community.
 Plugin A
plugin package is a special kind of package that provides platform functionality  to your app. Plugin packages can be written for Android (using Kotlin or Java), iOS (using Swift or Objective-C), Web, macOS, Windows, Linux, or any combination thereof. For example, the plugin allows you to use your device's camera in your Flutter app.
