Want to learn how to use data analysis tools to analyze and solve business and economic problems? Then the Econometrics course at Erasmus University in Rotterdam is for you. Learn how to transform data into models to make predictions and support decision making. * What are you learning? If you are familiar with econometrics, you can turn data into models to generate forecasts and support decision making in areas ranging from macroeconomics to finance to marketing. can. Our courses begin with introductory lectures on simple and multiple regression, followed by topics of special interest dealing with model specifications, endogenous variables, binomial choice data, and time series data. You can learn about these key econometrics topics by watching videos with in-video quizzes and doing post-video training exercises. * Do I need any prior knowledge? This course is suitable for (advanced) students of economics, finance, business administration, engineering, data analysis, and those working in these fields. This course requires some basic matrices, probabilities, and statistics. These are described in the Building Blocks module. If you're looking for a more introductory MOOC on econometrics that doesn't require much prior mathematical knowledge, you might be interested in the Coursera course Enjoyable Econometrics, also offered by Erasmus University Rotterdam. * What literature can I use to support my studies? You can follow the MOOC without studying additional sources. Further details on the topics discussed (including their constituent elements) are available in the textbook we authored and on which the MOOC is based: Econometric Methods with Applications in Business and Economics, Oxford University Press. MOOC module and their relationship to book chapters is shown in the Course Manual - Further Information - How to Continue Learning. * Do you have a teaching assistant to guide you through the course? Each January and February, employees and PhD students from the Institute of Econometrics provide instruction. The rest of the time, we only provide basic guidance. It is always recommended to network with other learners of this course to discuss topics and exercises. * How do I get my certificate? To get your certificate for this course, you must complete 6 test exercises (one for each module) and a case project. In addition, we will conduct a peer review activity of the work of our three fellow learners in this MOOC. If you pass all 7 tasks, you will receive a certificate.
